About Us

Altamont Sport Horses breeds amateur-friendly Knabstruppers (spotted Danish warmbloods), Trakehners and Appaloosa Sport Horses for dressage, hunter / jumper, eventing and all around partnership. All of our horses offered were bred and raised at our farm. No surprises, we've known and provided consistent hands-on care for them since they were born. We usually have horses ranging from 14.3hh-16.2hh to fit the rider's needs.

Our stallions have outstanding temperaments to go along with their handsome good looks, solid conformation, athleticism and willingness to work. They are offered to the public year round via fresh cooled semen with a contractual live foal guarantee. We are happy to offer custom embryos and custom foals utilizing our stallions and select mares.

Stallions Standing at Stud include:

Ambrosius af Asgard "Atlantis" - Knabstrupper, black and white leopard, E/e, neg for Agouti, LP/lp, PATN1/PATN1, E/e, no grey, no WFFS (pedigree link). (Sorry, Atlantis is unavailable. We tragically lost him to colic with a twist in March 2021.)

Hollywood Hot Spot - ApHC Appaloosa Sport Horse, bay blanket, LP/lp, patn1 negative, E/e, A/a, no grey, currently untested for WFFS (pedigree link)

Up and coming stallions (not yet breeding):

*ASH Orion - 2014 KNN Knabstrupper, bay few spot leopard (homozygous) LP/LP, PATN1/PATN1, E/E, A/A, no grey, no WFFS (pedigree link)

*These two young Knabstrupper stallions (foaled in 2014) were inspected and approved by the Danish inspection team of the Knabstrupper Foreningen for Danmark (KNN). Both were awarded with a preliminary 2-year breeding license as youngsters. The preliminary license has expired but can be reinstated as a lifetime breeding license after these young stallions successfully complete their riding performance test in 2021.

Hollywood Exclusive - ApHC Appaloosa Sport Horse, bay dun snowcap, (homozygous LP/LP) snowcap (pedigree link)
